New variable Star HassfortherV42

By blinking Stardial-images the star IRAS 18499-0316 proofed to be variable. There is no GSC-Star, but on DSS-I and DSS-II-Scans there is a moderatly bright star (R about 13).

= IRAS 18499-0316

Checking 212 Stardial-images from 1996 to 2000 showed IRAS18499-0316 to be a semiregular red variable star. The period is in the order of 120 to 150 days, the amplitude about 0.8 mag. For the following light-curve all 212 good images were used. Differential Photometry was done with MIRA AP 6.03 with respect to GSC 5118-38 (= Hipp92634) (V = 9.10, V-I = +1.03).

New variable star HassfortherV42

A check of the available TASS-measurements of 185235.8-031215 proofed the star to be variable with a small amplitude. Judging from the TASS-Photometry the star is very red:
V = 13.88 (only three measurements)
I = 8.16 (19 measurements)

The Stardial-project is one of the most fascinating aspects of the WEB, many thanks to Peter McCullough!!
The TASS-Database is a very valuable source to check and verify new findings. Many thanks to the TASS-people!!
